At Seven Swans Fine Jewellery, we believe that the process of creating your engagement ring should be as meaningful as the ring itself. We're not a factory. We're a small, passionate studio based in Brisbane, and every ring we make is a collaboration between us and the person wearing it.

Here's exactly how it works.

Step 1: The free consultation

Everything starts with a conversation. We offer free consultations in person at our Brisbane studio, or via video call for clients across Australia and beyond.

We'll ask about your style, your lifestyle, your budget, and your timeline. We'll look at inspiration images together. We'll talk about the kinds of stones and settings that excite you. And we'll answer every question you have — no pressure, no sales pitch, just an honest conversation.

Most clients leave their first consultation feeling excited and clear, rather than overwhelmed. That's the goal.

Step 2: Stone sourcing

This is where Seven Swans is truly different. We don't keep a stock of stones. Instead, we source antique-cut lab diamonds individually for each client, based on their specific brief and budget.

We work with specialist lapidarists who cut modern lab-grown rough using traditional antique techniques — producing Old Mine Cuts, Old European Cuts, Rose Cuts, Movals, and more. These stones are rare, unique, and full of character.

Once we've found options that suit your brief, we'll share high-resolution images, videos, and IGI certificates so you can make a fully informed choice. We'll guide you through the 4Cs and help you understand what you're looking at.

Step 3: Design

Once your stone is chosen, we move into design. We use a combination of reference images, hand sketches, and CAD (computer-aided design) renders to develop your setting.

We'll consider everything: the proportions of the stone, the shape of your hand, your lifestyle, and how the ring will sit alongside a wedding band. We'll refine the design until you love it — before a single piece of metal is touched.

Step 4: Creation

Your ring is handcrafted by our expert goldsmiths. We use solid 14K or 18K gold (yellow, white, or rose) and work to the highest standards of fine jewellery craftsmanship.

Typical turnaround from design approval to completion is 6–8 weeks. We'll keep you updated throughout the process and share photos as your ring takes shape.

Step 5: Quality check & delivery

Before your ring leaves our studio, it goes through a thorough quality check. We inspect the setting, the finish, and the stone to make sure everything is perfect.

Your ring is then packaged beautifully and delivered to you — ready for the moment you've been planning.

After the ring

Our relationship doesn't end at delivery. We offer complimentary resizing within the first year, and we're always here if you have questions about caring for your ring.
